Over the last 2 or 3 years, there has been a trend toward a more natural look.  It used to be that many trans women went over the top, ending up looking like charicatures of thr human female.

Surgicl facial feminization often went too far until they looked like non-humans, with massive cheek implants & tire-like lips.  Poor quality, massive breast implants spaced wide apart & pointing toward the side instead of the front were a frequent occurrence.  And to cap it off many trans women allowed untrained, illegally operating non-professionals to inject their buttocks with automotive grade Silicone and other fillers. 

Modern trends

Fortunately there is a new trend leading to far better results.  Patients finally realize that effective hormone therapy can lead to significant facial feminization.  And they reralize that expertly applied make-up can work wonders.  The quality of work done by some, but not all FFS surgeons is greatly improved as people begin to realize that less is often more & more is often less.

In terms of buttock development, adequate, non-oral hormone therapy contributes generously to buttock feminization & now there are select surgeons who do a beautiful job with fat transfer techniques.  Many trans women now realize that with a bit of patience, they can acheive very adrwuate breast development via precision hormone therapy anfd that HRT will often round-off quite nicely the results of more conservative brreast implantation.
