Recently, a local endocrinologist, John O'Dea, called me with an interesting observation that I would love to share with you.
I have a feeling that this finding will be of interest to you although you may already be aware of it.
The Institute of Neurological Sciences
Briefly, as a diversion from the more standard treatment problems, Dr. O'Dea started seeing a group of transsexuals. He now cares for approximately 30 of these individuals and has noted two striking findings. First, almost all of them are gifted in mathematics, apparently an almost universal trait among transsexuals.
More exciting, possibly, is the fact that almost every one of them were left-handed. Of his group of 30 transsexuals, 27 were rather strongly left-handed.
It would seem to me that this information fits in rather well concerning the brain abnormalities associated with immune alterations, particularly with the influence of intrauterine sex hormones.
