Not all transgender patients undergo gender reassignment surgery (GRS) but for those who do so there are many challenges facing them.  GRS is a major crossroads in the trans journey involving two abrupt alterations, one structural, the other both structural & functional.

Plastic surgery can be a boon to those who need it, but it cannot by itself effectively or convincingly feminize the trans-woman. 

Despite the futile attempts of individuals such as Harry Benjamin to standardize the medical treatment of trans-women, the overall patterns of care in these patients have been & still are pretty much a case of “anything goes”.  This is particularly true when it comes to the field of hormone therapy. 

 
In addition to becoming feminized on your own, particular, personal terms, the basic objective when seeking feminizing hormone therapy should ideally be to improve the risks to benefits ratio of these hormones, in other words to minimize risks and side effects while at the same time tailoring the rapidity and effectiveness of feminization so as to match the desires of the individual patient.

Throughout the course of human history the only truly free source of pleasure & happiness has been sex.  You didn’t have to plant it, water it, grow, or even catch it.
